🇧🇷 OxFounders in Brazil - Round 2! 🚀

This month, we were delighted to visit Brazil for the second time, hosting the second edition of our pitch event (back by popular demand!) at the Universidade de São Paulo's SciBiz Conference, as well as meeting with key stakeholders in the Brazilian startup ecosystem.

The highlight of our event was our OxFounders Pitching Competition, which this year followed the conference's COP30 theme. USP's SciBiz conference, which brings together industry and academia with a special focus on startups, is the largest of its kind in Latin America.

We had another exceptional lineup of startups present on the day, to a panel of esteemed judges including Gabriela Aguiar (Director, Plug and Play Tech Center, Brazil), Franklin Ribeiro (Head, Startup Ecosystem, InvesteSP - São Paulo Investment Authority), Semi Kim (Senior Manager, AWS), Victor Lugli (Managing Partner, Lugli Group), and Andrea Motta (Director, UK-Brazil Tech Hub).

Thanks to our generous partners AWS, each of our top three startup teams also received $10,000 in credits.

Our winners were:

🏆1. Xield Clean Energy, pitched by Guilherme Tremiliosi

🥈2. Tissuelabs, pitched by Camila Moniz

🥉3. Microgene, pitched by Manuella Nóbrega

❤️ Audience Favourite - Millie Mind, pitched by Gabriel Brigato Ramos

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!

During our trip, we also had the opportunity to visit and meet with key stakeholders at Cubo Itaú, Green Hub Sampa, São Paulo City Administration, São Paulo State Government, and Fiocruz (Rio de Janeiro). We also got the chance to do a little sightseeing, including in Rio's beautiful Botanic Gardens 🌱.

...and the secret highlight (shhh)....

We had the unexpected pleasure of seeing capybaras on a near daily basis in São Paulo! ;-)
